Common Opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena will make his case for a united and prosperous future for Sri Lanka at a meeting with the business community at a key forum on Tuesday (Dec. 23) 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at King's Court, Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel.
Accompanying Sirisena will be UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe who will speak on the policy framework for boosting socio-economic development within a stable policy environment. They will address the business community at the interactive forum titled "Let’s Unite"
Since his selection as the common opposition candidate to end the regime of Mahinda Rajapaksa, Sirisena has drawn widespread support from all sections of society, his campaign organizers claimed.
"The business forum will be an excellent opportunity to obtain key insights into the new vision of the joint opposition to harness a greater private sector role for equitable development in Sri Lanka," they said.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa had a similar meeting which was described as resounding success last week. Sirisena’s meeting with the business community was also scheduled for last week but postponed as its organizers did not want to clash with the president’s event.
